Freddie Gibbs, Madlib Get Rugged with Karriem Riggins on 'City' – Song Premiere

Gary, Indiana, rapper Freddie Gibbs and Southern California MC Madlib might seem like a weird pairing, but the rugged MC and offbeat producer and rapper have collaborated for years, releasing two EPs together and combining Gibbs' raw street sense and gifted technical abilities with Madlib's quirky, adventurous production. They're currently putting the finishing touches on their collaborative album Cocaine Piñata, expected later this year, and in the meantime, they're putting out their track "City" featuring Karriem Riggins as part of Adult Swim's Summer Singles series.

Riggins trades a verse with Gibbs while both sound comfortable riding Madlib's meandering beat. "This is just a prelude to what me and Madlib are about to do with Cocaine Piñata," Gibbs tells Rolling Stone. "This Madlib album was made by drugs."

"City" will be released for free on July 22nd; visit Adult Swim's website for their entire Summer Singles series.
