Gouldfinger: Has Ellie Goulding Recorded The New James Bond Theme Song?

Speculation is mounting that British singer Ellie Goulding has recorded the theme song for ‘SPECTRE’, the 24th James Bond film coming to cinemas this October.

The ‘Anything Could Happen’ singer dropped the biggest clue yet that she’s singing the new 007 theme with a post on Instagram showing her leaving Abbey Road Studios with the caption “That’s a wrap!”

In isolation, the post may seem fairly innocuous. After all, singers are photographed leaving recording studios all the time, but when you piece together the clues, it looks like Goulding has been given licence to thrill on the new ‘SPECTRE’ soundtrack.

Abbey Road is the musical home of Bond with most of the official soundtracks including 2012′s Oscar-winning ‘Skyfall’ being recorded at the famous studios

Director Sam Mendes also recently revealed the theme song had been done, but offered no clue to which artist was behind it.

“I can say that the song’s been recorded and it’s fantastic and I’m very excited about it,“ he told the BBC. "You won’t have to wait long.”

Now Goulding is a name that’s long been linked with the ‘SPECTRE’ theme along with Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, but the use of the moviemaking phrase “That’s a wrap” at a time of intense speculation seems to confirm that it’s Goulding - or should we say Gouldfinger - that’s landed the gig.

Traders at Betfair have now suspended betting on Ellie Goulding “due to betting patterns” and “’hints’ that Ellie had already most definitely recorded it”.

Adele’s theme song for ‘Skyfall’ was a huge hit upon release in 2012, and was the first Bond song to win an Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 2013 Oscars, so expectations are sky high for the new theme.

As soon as we hear any more, you’ll find out about it right here… for your eyes only.
