Katy Perry Drops 'Roar' Video, Reveals 'Prism' Cover Art

Rolling Stone

Katy Perry walks on the wild side in her new video for "Roar." The video is the first visual from her highly-anticipated album Prism, arriving this October.

Where Does Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" Rank on Rolling Stone's 50 Best Songs of 2010?

The clip opens with Perry and a selfie-taking explorer navigating through the jungle following a plane crash. He's mauled by a tiger, leaving Perry to fend for herself amongst the beasts of the wild. She quickly takes to her new environment, and summons a swarm of fireflies, brushes an alligator's teeth and makes a spear fashioned from the heel of a black pump. The video reaches its apex when Perry has a face-to-face standoff with a tiger and emerges as the alpha. It's the type of survival-skills you'd expect from the pop star.

In related Katy Perry Prism news, the singer droped by GMA this morning and revealed the cover art -- a washed out photo of her standing in a sunflower field.

Prism is due out October 22nd.
