Listen: Queens of the Stone Age's 'Keep Your Eyes Peeled' Dials in Sludgy Guitar

Queens of the Stone Age stopped by a Belgian radio station for an in-studio session last week to play some songs off their upcoming album . . . Like Clockwork, and their performance of opening track of "Keep Your Eyes Peeled" has now surfaced at Antiquiet. "Keep Your Eyes Peeled" is a heavy, bluesy metal march that stomps forward with sludgy guitar smacks and Josh Homme's haunting vocals. The band trudges through the swampy track before unfolding into a swirling fury of needling guitars and piercing drums.

Last week, two other songs emerged from the radio session: the eerie pop-tinged "I Sat by the Ocean" and the darker "If I Had a Tail." . . . Like Clockwork is set for a June 4th release. Queens of the Stone Age have already released a studio version of album cut "My God Is the Sun," and previewed the track "I Appear Missing" with an animated clip. . . . Like Clockwork features a long list of guests, including Elton John, Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears and original bassist Nick Oliveri.
