Lyrical Exercise: J. Cole & Kendrick Lamar Remix Each Other’s Songs For A “Black Friday” Special

It's really a Cole world. …

Fresh off a visit with a young cancer patient in a North Carolina hospital, J. Cole comes through on “Black Friday” with some new heat over Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell’s “Alright.”

Maybe it’s just me, but it seems as if Jermaine is even more focused. Here, on “Black Friday,” Cole spazzes for a little over two minutes about getting paper, giving the finger to Uncle Sam and selling his Range Rover because cops keep giving him the crooked eye. The Dreamville head honcho even touches on his rumored collab tape with K.Dot.

We’re not sure what Cole World has up his sleeve coming this February– as he hints on “Black Friday,”– but we’re definitely looking forward to it.

UPDATE:

J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar are up to something that’s very hip-hop. And we love it.

Right after Cole dropped “Black Friday” over K.Dot’s “Alright,” the Compton native bounces right back with a remix to Fayetteville’s own “A Tale of Two Cities.”

I’ll just stop writing and let you listen.
