Modest Mouse Cancel European Tour to Work on New Album

Modest Mouse have canceled their upcoming tour of Europe and the United Kingdom to continue working on their new album, the band announced on their website today. "We do appreciate our fans and promise that we will make it up to you next year," the note reads. Refunds for tickets will be available at the point of purchase.

Modest Mouse have played some of their new material live already this spring, including a track called "Be Brave" during their set at Coachella. The band is still set to play the First City Festival in Monterey, California on August 25th.

According to the post, Modest Mouse hope to release their new material by next year. The release would be the band's first full-length since 2007's We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank; an EP, No One's First and You're Next, was put out in 2009.
