No Ceilings: No Wyld

No Wyld, who met in New Zealand and are now based in New York, are nomads. They’ve travelled a long way to be able to make the music they want and their unique sound reflects their unique journey. The trio’s music is a blend of hip-hop and rock with some electronic influences thrown in on the production side, and their songwriting talent means they come with choruses that are built to be chanted back by packed stadiums or heard on mainstream radio.

We spent some time in L.A. with No Wyld, who were holed up in the studio working on new music. This wasn’t just any studio, though, this was Andrew Dawson’s studio, and walking past the Grammys in the hall for his work on Late Registration, Graduation, and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy let you know the level he is used to working at. We talked to No Wyld about the beginnings of the group, learning what it’s like to be different, and their new music. Plus, Mo Kheir even hopped in the booth to spit for us. Watch the latest No Ceilings video above.

No Wyld’s Ascension EP drops tomorrow, October 9 (buy here), and features “Odyssey,” “Queen” ft. Kamau, and three other songs. The trio tell us, “It is written from from the perspective of the traveling Nomad. Each song is a segment of out journey or ascension towards our dreams and towards achieving a sense of belonging.” Listen to “Odyssey” below.
