Shooting Outside French Montana Tour Bus Leaves One Dead

A shooting outside French Montana's tour bus in Philadelphia has left one person dead and another hospitalized, according to Philadelphia's NBC 10. The incident occurred last night outside a Holiday Inn on Penns Landing after a local show by the New York rapper. Montana was outside with fans when someone opened fire from a car. A 27-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and pronounced dead at the hospital, and a 29-year-old man was hit in the shoulder and taken to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The Associated Press reports the shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. Police have interviewed around 25 people, including Montana. Three people were taken into custody for carrying guns, and investigators say someone from Montana's crew may have fired back at the shooter.

Police believe neither victim has connections to Montana or his crew, and that the rapper was not the target of the shooting. Montana is scheduled to perform in Boston tonight, and his debut album, Excuse My French, is due April 16th. The shooting follows an incident in January involving Montana's friend Rick Ross, who was the target of a drive by shooting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on his birthday, after he had received repeated threats from the Black Disciples gang. No one was injured in the incident.
