Will Smith Is Back In The Studio And Planning A WORLD TOUR With DJ Jazzy Jeff In 2016!

You may know him better as a movie star these days but it appears that Will Smith is ready to make his return to the music industry, SAY WHAAAAT?

Will Smith recently teased us with a rap verse on a remix of Bomba Estéreo’s song, Fiesta, but apparently this is just a taste of things to come as the star has revealed that he’s plotting his rap comeback. Can we get a H to the E-L-L YES?

In fact, he’s “pretty certain” that he’ll be taking the world by storm with a tour in 2016!

Smith made the announcement on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show, revealing that he has more than 30 newly recorded songs, he told Lowe: “There are about six or seven [tracks] that I really, really like, that I’m trying to get the ideas to come out right. I’m shaking the rust off, knocking the dust off.”

The former Fresh Prince stated that he is “terrified” about the prospect of returning to music, so has been going into the studio nearly every day recording and working with a range of collaborators to discover his new sound.

“I have so many things that I want to say and I’m struggling with saying them in a way that fit the flavour of music that I tend to like.”

He also recognises that the hip-hop industry has changed since the late 80’s, when he and Jazzy Jeff were last on the scene but he’s determined to give it a shot up until he’s about “70 or 80 years old” – well, at least he has a good few years ahead to try and crack it.

The 47-year old also teased us with plans of a world tour next summer alongside his longtime collaborator DJ Jazzy Jeff – the ultimate iconic duo.

“I’m pretty certain I’m going on tour,” Smith said. “Jeff and I actually never have done a full tour. I was always on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, I was always either making a movie, so we’ve never actually done a full tour. So I’m looking this summer to be the first time that we go out on a full world tour.”

Now all that we need is Alfonso Ribeiro (aka Carlton) as backing dancer and we’re all set…

Don’t worry; even though Smith is keen to return to his musical roots, he is not stepping away from the big screen either, as he disclosed that a third installment for the Bad Boys franchise is on its way.
