The 10 Best Music Books of 2016

At one point in her reliably outrageous memoir, Ms. Jones writes that she "flew on the Concorde so many times I knew the pilots. I knew their families. I could have flown the plane, except I would have wanted to do it naked, sprayed silver, in rollerskates." Would we expect anything less from a woman who has long been one of music's most uncontainable stars? Jones' memoir reads like one long provocation, punctuated by boasts of sexual insatiability, entitled demands, and commanding declarations ("I am my own sugar daddy!"). Even the title of her book courts the contrary. What's not to like?
