Album Covers: Too Good to be True
Metallica, "Metallica" - Noted metal band Metallica delivered their answer to "The White Album" in 1991, with its self-titled fifth studio album, commonly referred to as "The Black Album." Like "The White Album," it's a study of minimalism, with only the band's logo in the upper left cover and a coiled snake on the bottom right. Of course, it came after Prince's "The Black Album," which was originally scheduled for released in 1987, but withdrawn and subsequently released in 1994, and Spinal Tap's "This Is Spinal Tap" in 1984, which in the movie was originally called "Smell the Glove," but the fictional cover art was too racy and replaced with the all-black design.
