Less than three months after bombs ripped through the heart of Boston, residents and visitors face heavy security as they celebrate Independence Day at an open-air concert and fireworks display on the banks of the Charles River. Police arrested a man over allegations he used the name of an aunt who had been dead for more than a decade to try and claim about $2.2 million from the Boston Marathon bomb victims fund. A onetime cocaine trafficker from South Boston told jurors in the trial of James "Whitey" Bulger that once he joined forces with Bulger's team in the early 1980s he had no trouble persuading small-time dealers to buy drugs from him at a premium.
