Weather Breaking News: Scorching Heat Bakes West, Toppling Records

High-pressure from Montana to Arizona has immersed the West in dangerous conditions, feeding wildfires and record high-temperatures -- with little relief in sight. High temperatures brought discomfort to much of the Southwest on Sunday as many parts of the region were coming off several record-breaking heat days and bracing for more sizzling temperatures. The Southwest again saw soaring temperatures on Sunday with forecasters predicting the aptly named Furnace Creek in the heart of Death Valley, California, might hit a 100-year high of 130 degrees.
