Road Trip: Lyndonville, VT

Ram Country 4:00 mins

Host Marc Istook tours the endangered Sanborn bridge in rural Vermont, one of less than 900 covered bridges remaining in the United States. The bridges are part of our farming history: they were designed with covers on them to give skittish cattle and horses a sense of entering a barn, soothing their fears of crossing rushing rivers after returning from grazing in nearby meadows. Marc meets the owners and local activists who are fighting to save these historical structures before they fade into America’s past.
